Right after a couple inches of rain in the summer gar become very active in search for food and often stay up on top in the newly flooded water. Catching them with topwater lures is a challenge but it is tons of fun! I personally think this is a lot funner than bowfishing and the fish get to live! Fayette County Lake 4th of July Bassin
We had a good trip to fayette on the 4th of July. I caught 13 bass and all three of us caught 21. Most fish were caught on Texas rigged flukes and I caught 6 on a dropshot with a super fluke jr.
