The school time in the Dörfli is over and as each year before the summer holidays an important class work. The best performer receives a prize. On the day of the exam, Peter's goats disappeared, and he does not make it to school in time. Heidi comes to his aid. Together, they want to explain everything to the teacher later and report on their adventurous rescue operation. When Theresa meets on the school grounds, the goats are released. As a punishment for her irresponsible behavior, the teacher lets her fall through. Peter is allowed to write down the class work and not only emerges as the proud winner of a book and a silver coin, but also as the winner of the heart.
