Fur Taxi’s latest gig: Lex and Plu have to bring Bonnie the basketball player home to the rat asteroid, where her family owns a huge library of rare books. Lex is on edge because of a morning argument with Trish, who was invited to give a talk at the annual Kailoo the Husky Society of Amateur Planetary Scientists. Trish really wanted to go because it was important to her, but Lex was planning to go watch the Stardust Intergalactic Races and expected Trish to stay home and monitor the customer call line. It’s a long way to the rat asteroid, plus our heroes get stuck in a traffic jam. Lex decides to break the rules of the road and go around, but he knocks over a comet that was flying towards them. As soon as our heroes get Bonnie home, they find out that the comet’s changed its flight path because of the collision, and now it won’t collide with the desert planet where Bonnie’s family was planning to transfer their books; the collision was supposed to help create an ideal climate for book storage. Our friends will have to work very hard to correct their mistakes, but there’s no way they’ll succeed without Trish’s knowledge of planetary science and Bonnie’s basketball skills.
