It's time to continue singing along to Esther: A Musical Adventure!
In the song "Bad News Buddy", we see the central conflict of Esther unfold. Haman is King Xerxes' right-hand man, and all the people in Persia must bow to him. But when Mordecai refuses, Haman gets angry. He comes up with a plan to kill Mordecai and all the other Jewish people living in Persia.
In this song, Haman puts his evil plan into motion. Haman convinces King Xerxes that the Jews are bad people who are up to no good. He tricks the King into signing a decree ordering that all Jews must be destroyed.
Why do you think Haman was so angry at Mordecai? Why do you think King Xerxes signed the decree to kill all the Jews? What do you think will happen next in the story?
Things seem pretty bad for the Jewish people at this point in the story, but remember—in Esther, God is always working behind the scenes!
