Kanika’s creative homeschool activity—a friendly cooking competition between the kids—also serves as a surprise dinner for their grandfather Tony Evans (who thinks Kanika has done all the cooking). When we discover that the four oldest children neglected to follow proper instructions, it’s too late tore-bake and dinner is on the verge of disaster. That is until Bunny—the youngest of the mall—saves the day with her perfectly baked entree. At bedtime the kids learn the parable of the sower as they envision how each dinner dish relates to the types of soil described in the parable.
