The Reggies camp at the inlet of the lake, following the tradition of the local dinosaurs to tell scary stories during camping. They hear a frightening tale about a lake monster from Nemi's mom, and despite being scared, they somehow manage to fall asleep. In the middle of the night, Kenny wakes up and claims to have seen a gigantic dinosaur in the lake, causing a commotion about the monster. However, the creature turns out to be Ellie, an Elasmosaurus who got separated from her parents and ended up in the inlet. Rarely appearing, Elasmosaurus is considered a fortunate encounter, as Nemi's dad teaches the Reggies, "Meeting her brings happiness." Feeling sorry for Ellie being alone, the Reggies convey that she is now their friend, pledging to meet again next year at the inlet.
