The council comes to Grandfather to ask him to finish building the Devil’s Bridge that he started six years ago and stopped when Tobias had his accident. Grandfather can’t really refuse. But when he starts working on the bridge, memories come back to him and he starts having nightmares. Worried about Grandfather, Heidi understands the only way for him to be at rest is to face exactly what happened that day with Tobias. With Clara, they gather information to find out what happened, and then they go to the bridge to talk to Grandfather. They find him petrified on the bridge, frozen by his memories of the past, and they have to talk him through the accident for him to let go of the past.
